This study is a series of short, looping, animated portraits of three individuals. Working in Adobe Photoshop, I used linework to convey individuals’ personalities through facial expressions, movements, and mannerisms. With the least amount of lines possible, I wanted to illustrate expressions in which the lines themselves hold movement without needing anything “extra.” Because the animation is digitally hand-drawn, each frame is as unique as the individual portrayed.
